THE LEGACY

The seed of entrepreneurship was planted in our founder at an early age. Our founder, Mike James, has deep British family roots and fond memories of spending his childhood summers sailing around the island of Guernsey with his father and grandfather, Jimmy James. Peter James, a highly respected and well-loved individual, embodied the entrepreneurial spirit and passed that legacy onto his son.

The name Guernsey Sonic pays homage to Peter James’ legacy. Peter passed away in April 2020, just before the firm's founding and initial acquisition. Inspired by his father's influence, Mike named the company after the island where they shared so many cherished memories. He founded the company in 2021 with decade-long friends who also shared his passion for entrepreneurship and would help to continue his father’s legacy with the entrepreneurial qualities now found in our company’s core values.
